The year 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the Van Morrison classic, Astral Weeks.

With this in mind, a series of Irish performers will play the album in sequence. Music journalist and broadcaster Stuart Bailie will open the event with a talk about the record's inception and will introduce each track with notes about the lyrics and the musical context.

Featured artists will include Foy Vance, The 4 of Us, Bap Kennedy, Tom McShane, The Winding Stair & others (tba).

This event has not been authorised by Van Morrison. See www.ohyeahbelfast.com for updated lineup and ticket info.

Gig starts: 2pm

Sorry you were unable to make the Black Box show. It was a marvellous event with some wonderful Music. We missed you and hope that you weren't due to perform Madame George which I can only imagine would have been brilliant.I would still recommend anyone with tickets for tonight's show to go along.

Yeah we were so disappointed when we arrived to find out that you were not able to perform. I agree with Leo though- great show- and thought Duke Specials version of Ballerina was amazing!

Yip, an amazing afternoon of wonderful, emotional music by some of the best musicians in the land. Matt McGinn and Ursula Burns were duly rewarded by an appreciative audience for great, largely unrehearsed, renditions of Cypress Avenue and Madame George. Duke Special's Ballerina was truly "Special". Such a pity Foy couldn't make it.
