AMAZING night, Foy was-as always- superb. The man is a genius. The Union Chapel is a beautiful venue but the pews were rather uncomfortable and the audience seemed to be on their best behaviour! Me and my friend felt very self concious when we hee-hawed much too loudly at Foys jokes, for example when he first started to play and slipped in a few bars of a hymn - I think alot of the audience missed it but my friend laughed (loudly) which she then turned into a cough!! LOVE Be The Song and as it was the first tune he played so I felt like I had my pudding before my dinner - not a bad thing. So many great tracks, dont know if I could have chosen a favourite. Still singing Will Ye Go Lassie, Gabriel and Never Let The Spirit Die in my head constantly. Both me and my friend had a proper chin wobbling moment when he spoke of his father and sang a song dedicated to him - very emotional. I bet Mr Vance senior was nudging all the angels in Heaven going "Thats my boy, you know". I am SO thrilled we got to see Foy again this year and hope we will get to see him many more times next year. I will never tire of this magnificent artist. I intend to gift all my family and friends with a copy of Foys album. No decent music collection is complete without it and my Xmas will be a very happy one now I have the Union Chapel gig memories. Thank you Foy.

a bald man, a troubadour's hat, a drunken ale,
calloused fingers transported transcendence,
until words receded redundant.
life amplified, passion purified, horizons hollowed,
ready to be filled fully. by gabriel and a bangor boy,
ready to drink a beer and feel the warm sweat of hope.
