barefoot in the mud...
Monday, 01 September 2008
Barefoot in the mud at the foot of a mountain in Inverary, there was an old look out on the mountain top that you could just about see, saluting through the top of the mist that had descended. The sky was otherwise clear: pink, purple, orange and blue... Sigur Rós were on stage... it was heavenly!I highly recommend you go to Hydro Connect next year if you get the chance...
The vibe translated backstage too, which isn't always the case. I got talking to Elbow, Sigur Rós and Franz Ferdinand...all of whom were completely down to earth and loving the vibe up there... you gotta love it when that happens...

oh... I forgot to mention the overwhelming smell of piss in certain areas... not as poetic really!

portraitpainter replied 1 day after.Every 'once in a blue moon' someone comes along who pulls the rug from under your feet. Well the rug's gone missing and the moon was blue in Inverary on Sunday afternoon when you walked on stage and delivered your heart and soul from your waist high mic. I've been 'Vanced' and once is not enough :-) Emma's post hinted at a date in Glasgow in October. I cant find anything? . . . *stamps feet and pouts like spoilt brat.
Consider yourself bookmarked Mr. Vance. I'm practically bursting to seeing you live again . . . but in the meantime . . . . God bless iTunes.
