This week in Belfast...

First thing I need to tell you is this: I'm playing the Menagerie in Belfast this weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) with David Homes (music master mind behind Ocean's 11,12,13, Out of Sight and hunger to name a few)... and my favourite DJ by a long shot! They will be very intimate gigs...
not that I'll be getting intimate with DH (although I might just), but more that it's such a small venue. I think it only holds about 170/80 people "officially"... in fact tickets have been selling quick already so go get em while they're hot.
David and I will be working together during the days and then using the gig as an outlet in the evenings, so it should prove to be a pretty special weekend. More than that, I'm looking forward to getting back to the Menagerie. I used to play there years ago in a covers band I had going at the time called 'Liberace and the shirt lifters'. It was an interesting band... always went somewhere new, and in fact the most notable night was in the Menagerie in 1998! Full Circle eh...
It'll also be good to get meeting some of you... usually at gigs I'm stuck back stage before and after the gig, but this will be more of an 'intimate gathering in a pub' affair.... in which case I fully expect some Christmas cards and pressies!!
nah, just kiddin of course.......... unless you were gonna say yes!?
You can get tickets from Old Flat Top...or Ticketmaster ... or instore at Zavvi
on another note, I'm off to Dublin tomorrow for the preview of the Hotpress music videos (of which BE WITH ME one)... apparently there's a whole red carpet deal going on??? I can't see it myself, but.... I think red carpet should only come out at things like the Oscars... I reckon it should be graded on the event. for instance maybe this one could be a high grade linoleum or something!? Maybe a nice paisley patterned carpet with half decent underfelt...
Anyway... the red carpet will be out at the week end... it's gonna be good and you're invited!

Rory replied about 23 hours after. Will do my best to get to the Menagerie Foy, sounds like a laugh. And don't sell yourself short re the red carpet - a nice piece of seagrass carpetting would work wonders, as its easier to clean unsightly stains. Looking forward to the video's premiere on Top of the Pops...
Oldbloke replied 1 day after. Can't get to the Belfast gigs as it's a bit of a trek from Gloucestershire and the recesion means I need to do the wage slave thing. Playing the guitar and stuff is a good option in a recession. The Government may start giving grants so watch out. Daughters (2) are coming to Twisted Christmas on Thursday as my treat so would be grateful if you could make them stand up. Their names are Bethan and Ella (honestly!) and they are in the back row of the stalls on your right. Tell them I love them very much. Know what you mean about Christmas. Despite all the commercial rubbish, it makes people better. Have a good one. Ellas just get more fun by the way - so do Bethans of course.

Karl replied 11 days after.Foy, had a brilliant night last saturday!!! Was great to finally see you live. Pitty I couldn't hang around due to the lack of sterling. Was walking up the street after the gig and the police pulled up and started asking us all these questions! 'Where were you both?' "The Menagerie", i replied. 'Who was playing?' "A lad called foy vance". 'Never heard of him' and proceeded to search us and take all our details! Was bloody halarious. Then we had to bribe a taxi driver to take us back to our luxury hostel for €10!! Great night
