Yeah, man Donny Hathaway ja...

Yeah, man Donny Hathaway jamming with his bros at the Bitter End or Curtis and Bill Withers with their cats sitting on their amps, cool as fuck, just working up an organic groove playing in tiny clubs to 100 people. That is definately where it's at. Today you can still find a legend like Hamish Stuart (singer, guitarist songwriter frontman and sideman to the likes of AWB, George Benson, Dave Sanborn, Chaka, Aretha, Diana, Quincy...not to mention Macca and Ringo (I told you not to mention Macca and Ringo...he leads the fucking finest, grooviest, in the pocket, tasteful and state of the art groove outfit you'll see anywhere (Pino Pallidino et al) every month in the 606 in Chelsea playing like a mutha to 100 punters. Give me that sweat and realness every day over the big gigs (no dissing Al of course, who is a legend). But, even so, how many times can yo sing 'Lets Stay Together' and still 'feel' it. No man, Foy, for my money, is just carrying on the tradition...I hope he goes on to bigger things but, trust me, this is where it's at and this is where it's staying real.

Fanku, goodnight, much love...
