London gig
Wednesday, 09 May 2007
Hey...just a quick note about the gig this coming Monday at La Pigalle in Picadilly. It's going to be with a the musicians that worked on my album which should make for an interesting evening being that we've never played live together before. In fact before the recording we'd never played together, which made the sessions unique. They kept saying "can we run through that once more just to get it clear in my head", to which I would reply "no.... hit record Sam". I never like to rehearse the danger out of anything, if I'm singing a song in the knowledge the it might, at any given more, completely derail, then I seem to engage with it all the more... which is probably why Indiscriminate Act of Kindness was proving to be like bottling mist. In saying that, I think I captured an interesting version in Tchad Blake's toilet last week..did I already tell you about this? oh I don't know, it's too late to think straight (now there's a song title)....The point of this was to cordially invite you to the La Pigalle gig in London next week... if you're free I'd love to see you there... ni night x

Any chance of a setlist?
Mark replied 6 days after.Another amazing pigalle gig! A perfect evening: funky venue, wine and great music. I can't wait for the new album (is '1st of july' going to be on it?). Thanks again foy and please come back to pigalle soon...or even better, come to oxford! O and that duet in the duke special gig last nite was astounding
Steve Jones replied 7 days after.Oi - get Johnston to fix your "Recent comments" - looks like they're actually working from the oldest forward, not the newest back. Which makes them, like, not recent.
Enjoying your barking at the Duke show... Indiscriminate on the Ulster Orch gig is ASTOUNDING and left me in pieces in Montreal. x Raff
Stuart Johnston replied 9 days after.Good spot! All fixed!
Vic replied 26 days after.Saw you at the Bonnie Raitt gig in Brighton sometime ago and it was great from the opening tune of Crosstown Traffic by Jimi somebody or other to the end of your set.Marvellous.
The point is wouldn't mind seeing another gig but so far dates clashed with heavy social committments. After July 7th any plans for anywhere in London, Kent, Surrey even Essex ?
Cheers
Vic
